A.H. Hirsch Reserve 16 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2003 (Gold Foil)

A.H. Hirsch Reserve 16 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey 2003 (Gold Foil)

$2600.00
From The Collection of Michael Aronoff: A.H. Hirsch was distilled in 1974 at Pennco Distillery in Pennsylvania, home of the original Michter’s Whiskey. Distilled as a one-time, 400-barrel order for long-time Schenley executive Adolph Hirsch, A.H. Hirsch 16 Year is regarded as one of the most legendary bourbons of all time. Bottled in very small batches throughout the 1990s, A.H. Hirsch bourbon effectively hid in plain sight during a time when the American whiskey market was at its lowest point. Despite the quality of the bourbon, it often sat on store shelves for years at a time. The final stocks were bottled in 2003 for Preiss Imports, which acquired the brand in the early 2000s. As the bourbon market boomed in the 21st century and consumers started buying the last bottles still in stores, bourbon enthusiasts realized how unique this whiskey truly was. By the time this notion fully penetrated the market, the bottles were gone. The lore of A.H. Hirsch has grown to the point that the whiskey is a true legend 50 years after it was distilled. The brand is so mythical today that an entire book was written about it by the legendary bourbon historian Chuck Cowdery. A. H. Hirsch Reserve 16 Year Straight Bourbon Whiskey (2003 bottling).
